AQIP COUNCIL CHARTER

ARTICLE I – PURPOSE

The AQIP Council is responsible for identifying opportunities for continuous improvement and assigning them to AQIP teams, Process Improvement Teams or individuals for their analysis and recommendations for improvement.  The AQIP Council will then review team/individual work efforts and provides feedback and recommendations as needed to the assigned team/individual.  Finally, the AQIP Council will make recommendations to the President on specific proposals.

All Chairpersons

Student Advisement Center, Coordinator

ARTICLE III – MEMBERSHIP APPOINTMENTS

The President of Northern New Mexico College shall appoint members to the AQIP Council.  Terms of office shall be at the pleasure of the President of the College.

ARTICLE IV – MEETINGS

The AQIP Council has scheduled regular meetings for the first Tuesday of each month.  Meetings will be no longer than two hours in duration at a Conference Room to be announced in advance of each meeting.  Special meetings may be called as needed.

ARTICLE V – OFFICERS

The Chairperson shall be appointed by the President of NNMC.  The Vice–Chairperson and other officers shall be elected by the committee membership.  The Vice-chairperson shall serve in the absence of the Chairman.

ARTICLE VI - ATTENDANCE REQUIREMENTS

All members are expected to attend meetings of the AQIP Council.  Members unable to attend meetings and have been excused will be included in communications via e-mail.  When a member is absent from two meetings without advance communication, the chairperson may consider recommendations for replacement of that member.

ARTICLE VII – MINUTES

Minutes of the AQIP Council meetings will be drafted, approved by the committee, and archived on the College’s AQIP website.

ARTICLE VIII – AMENDMENT OF BY-LAWS

These by-laws may be amended at any regular or special meeting of the AQIP Council by a simple majority of the committee.
